About The Mosaic Project
Our Vision
The Mosaic Project is a grassroots, family-centered organization dedicated to supporting adoptees and adoptive families, reconnecting loved ones separated by adoption, and providing trauma-informed coaching, resources, and training for parents, social workers, mental health professionals and families.
We believe that our earliest experiences—and the generations that came before us—profoundly shape who we are, influencing how we see ourselves and our place in the world.
Like the art of a mosaic, every person’s story is made up of many unique pieces. When pieces are missing, the picture is incomplete. We view adoption and the right of adoptees to understand and connect with their origins as a fundamental human right—one that allows each person to gather the pieces of their story and see their life’s mosaic in full.
At The Mosaic Project, we’re here to walk beside you—helping you discover, connect, and heal as you build your own complete picture.
Meet the Team
Our years of personal and professional experience in the field of ethical adoption and background in early trauma has given us a unique insight into understanding the gaps in services that exist in the adoption system. We feel uniquely positioned to be able to identity and fill those gaps so that families are supported throughout all ages-and-stages of their child's development.

The Mosaic Project assists families separated by adoption to reconnect. This can be a journey that is filled with emotions and challenges, which is why we prioritize providing trauma-informed support to families who are interested in starting their birth family searches to lead to the best possible outcome, regardless of where the searches lead. We are currently offering Birth Family Searches for South African adoptees, adoptive families, and their birth families.

Staying connected across the globe can be challenging, and we are here to support your family in maintaining these important relationships. No service is too small or big for us! Some post-search services we've been able to assist with have included sending photographs (anonymously), purchasing and delivering monthly grocery staples, right up to building a house! South Africa Homeland Trips
It is our vision and hope that every adoptee will have the opportunity to remain connected with their homeland, their people, and their culture. While this can be an exciting time for adoptees and adoptive families, it can also be a time that is filled with challenging emotions, fears, and anxiety. We are here to share in that experience and support your family every step of the way.
The Mosaic Project provides Homeland Trip packages for adoptees and their families to explore and connect with their birth country. We aim to make the homeland trip as smooth as possible for families - including pre and post-trip support, and providing a more relaxing travel experience for you, as an adoptive parent, to explore your child's birth country without the stress of planning, booking and other considerations. Our Homeland Trips are designed to support adoptees and their families in what can be an emotional journey, while also enjoying the amazing experiences and culture that your child's birth country has to offer.
