Supporting your family with compassion, connection and an invitation of self-discovery.
- Khalil Ghibran
After almost two decades’ of dedication to pre-and post-adoptive family support and training, as the mother of three (two of whom are adopted), Karyn’s journey into understanding the neurobiology of early trauma began through lived experience, which she expanded with trauma-informed education.
Her heart-centred, attuned, connected and evolving parenting approach developed organically, through meeting the real needs of her children and honouring them as unique and beautiful beings who did not, and do not need to, fit standardized “norms”.
Karyn’s commitment to ongoing learning deepened and shaped not only her work, but her way of life, eventually leading her to off-grid living, organic food production, slow and intentional travel, and ultimately, un-schooling and world-schooling her children.

Parenting and loving a child with an early history of trauma brings both profound gifts and complex challenges. Through acceptance, curiosity, and awareness, I create a safe, supportive space for caregivers to gently explore the fears, beliefs, and patterns that no longer serve them.
In doing so, individuals are able to reconnect with themselves, empowering them to show up as the parent, partner, and person they truly want to be.
You are no longer alone.

Support for those who love and care for individuals with early trauma, special needs, addictions, or other complex challenges. This is a space for you, too.
Together, we will explore reconnecting you with who you truly are, and gently uncovering the hidden beliefs and patterns that shape how you show up in the world. Along the way, you’ll learn to regulate your nervous system, deepen your somatic awareness, and understand the roots of self-abandonment, along with and its antidote, self-love.
From this foundation, we’ll cultivate the capacity to build relationships that are deeply connected, honest, and grounded in clear, authentic boundaries.

The Mosaic Project assists families separated by adoption to find each other and reconnect.
This can be a journey that is filled with emotions and challenges, which is why we prioritize providing trauma-informed support to families who are interested in starting their birth family searches to lead to the best possible outcome, regardless of where the searches lead.
We are currently offering Birth Family Searches for South African adoptees, adoptive families, and their birth families.

Staying connected across the globe can be challenging, and we are here to support your family in maintaining these important relationships.
No service is too small or big for us! Some post-search services we've been able to assist with have included sending photographs (anonymously), purchasing and delivering monthly grocery staples, right up to building a house!
We are open to discussing many options and services, so please reach out if you'd like to discuss, or click below to see some of the work we've been involved in!
